Bobby Slam

Bobby Slam formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s around guitarist and vocalist Frank Meyer, with bassist Ron Emory and drummer Ted Falcon. They built a following in the city's underground punk scene. Their song 'Sheena Is a Punk Rocker' became a notable track for them.

Their early work faced criticism from some quarters, and their live shows were known for being provocative. They put out records like the 1980 debut 'Bobby Slam' and later albums including 'Blood on the Tracks' and 'Punk Rock Babylon'. Their sound had a raw, aggressive quality that pulled from punk and garage rock.

By the mid-1980s, their music showed some shifts, with albums like 'The End of the World' and 'Hollywood Heartbreak' reflecting a somewhat more polished approach while keeping a punk foundation. The band's activity centered around that core trio through the 1980s.
