Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan came together in 2004 as a collaboration between composer Toshiro Yabuki and lyricist Kozaki Yusuke. They were inspired by the anime series of the same name, which dealt with themes of death and teenage angst. The group presented themselves as a quartet of schoolgirls performing heavy metal music with macabre lyrics, with their mascot Dokuro-chan representing Death.

Their song 'Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan' became something of an anthem for certain listeners, and they followed it with tracks like 'Bokusatsu Ondo Dokuro-chan' and 'Survive.' The band's aggressive lyrics about violence and death drew protests from some organizations, who accused them of promoting harmful ideas. Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan maintained that their music was simply reflecting darker aspects of human experience.
