Bola de Fogo

Bola de Fogo was a Brazilian funk band that formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1999. Led by vocalist Bóris, the group included members like Professor on keyboards, Tutu on bass, Latrell on drums, and Nélio on percussion. Their 1999 self-titled debut album introduced their sound, but it was the 2000 single 'Atoladinha' featuring Tati Quebra Barraco that really broke through.

That track, along with songs like 'Putaria' and 'Din Din Don - Afogadinha,' captured the raw energy of Rio's funk scene. The band released several albums in quick succession, including 'Rebola' in 2001, 'Balança' in 2002, and 'Chegou o Trem' in 2003. Their music was known for its direct, sometimes provocative lyrics and danceable rhythms.

Their songs resonated in communities that mainstream Brazilian media sometimes ignored. While the band's active period was relatively brief, their recordings from those years remain part of the fabric of early 2000s Brazilian funk.
