Archive material and source history
Bonnie Owens was born Virginia Cathryn Owens in Oklahoma in 1929. Her father played fiddle, and she started performing locally and on radio as a young woman. In 1948 she married Buck Owens, and they worked together as the Buckaroos, with her harmonies fitting his sound.
Her 1969 song "All of Me Belongs to You" reached the top of the country charts. Other recordings include "Consider the Children" and "Everything That's Fastened Down Is Comin' Loose." She and Buck divorced in 1975.
Owens kept singing on her own after that, putting out albums like Bonnie Owens in 1976. She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000.
