Bordertown formed in Austin, Texas in the early 2000s with Guy Forsyth on vocals and guitar, Justin Kinkel-Schuster on bass, and Rick Richards on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2004 and included the track "A Fond Farewell," which became their most recognizable song.
They put out two more albums after that first one: "The Light Fantastic" in 2006 and "Lost in the Shadows" in 2008. The band toured in the U.S. and Europe, and their setlists often featured songs like "Black and Blue" and "Hollywood Sleeps In The Back Room" alongside their better-known material.
Bordertown's music had a straightforward rock feel with some folk and blues touches in the mix. They weren't around for a particularly long stretch, but they managed to record those three albums and build a modest following before things wound down.
