Bornholm

Bornholm formed in 2005 on the Danish island they're named after, with vocalist Søren Nørgaard and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Alstrup at the core. Their debut album 'Heimweh' came out in 2010, followed by 'Søfareren' in 2014 and 'Vejen' in 2018. The band's sound has been described as blending folk elements with experimental, ambient, and drone textures.

Songs like '...On The Way Of The Hunting Moon' and 'Hymn To The Forgotten Pagan Gods' show their atmospheric approach. Their lyrics tend toward the introspective and melancholy, which has drawn some criticism for being too somber or esoteric. They've maintained a relatively stable lineup with Nørgaard and Alstrup as the consistent members.
