He recorded songs like 'Fraulein,' 'A Good Old Country Song,' and 'Hobo Heaven,' often focusing on everyday struggles and simple joys. He toured regularly with a band that included musicians like Gene Lawson on lead guitar and Bill Owens on rhythm guitar.
Boxcar Willie was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and continued performing until his death in 2011.
