They put out a debut single called "Strange Magic" in 1981, and their self-titled album followed the next year. The track that really defined them was "In The Sky," an atmospheric song that got a lot of radio play and charted well in places like the U.S. and their home country of Australia.
After that initial success, things got more complicated. The band toured heavily and felt pressure to follow up their big hit. There were creative disagreements within the group, particularly around Ham's role as the main songwriter. They managed to release a second album, "Seconds of Pleasure," in 1984, but it didn't connect with audiences or critics in the same way their first record had.
