Boys Bad News formed in London in the late 1970s with John Reid on vocals, Kenny Swain on guitar, Steve Curtis on bass, and Tim Williams on drums. Their debut album 'Ground Rule' came out in 1979, and its lead single 'Such Love' reached the top of the UK Singles Chart. They followed with 'The Rose' in 1980 and 'From the Womb to the Tomb' in 1982.
The band's lyrics and performances sometimes drew criticism from conservative groups, who accused them of glorifying violence and drug use. This led to protests and attempts to ban their concerts. Their songs like 'Another Sin' and 'Broken Law' reflected the confrontational style that fueled this reaction.
Lineup changes happened along the way. Steve Curtis left in 1981, replaced by Jimmy Chambers. Tim Williams departed in 1983, with Mark Evans taking over on drums. The band broke up in 1985 after legal battles and internal disputes.
