Boys Club

Boys Club came together in Seattle in the early 2000s with Matt Nathanson on vocals, Jordan Lawhead on guitar, Justin Davis on bass, and Jake Sinclair on drums. They put out their first album 'Contagious' in 2004, which included the song 'I Remember Holding You.'

That track became their most recognizable piece, a ballad built around Nathanson's direct, confessional writing. The band's sound tended toward the atmospheric and introspective, with lyrics that often circled isolation and loss.

They followed up with albums like 'Beneath the Surface' in 2006 and 'The Great Escape' in 2009. The lineup stayed mostly the same, with Nathanson handling the bulk of the songwriting. They worked with a few other artists, including Mark Everett from the Eels and Aimee Mann.
