Boys Generation, also known as SNSD, formed in 2007 under SM Entertainment in Seoul. The group originally had nine members: Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. Their debut single "Into the New World" came out that same year.
In 2009, they released "Gee," a song that became one of their biggest hits. Another track from that period, "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)," also helped define their early sound. The group's lineup changed over time, with Jessica leaving in 2014 and Tiffany and Sooyoung departing in 2017.
They continued performing and recording as an eight-member group after those changes. Their catalog includes songs like "Oh!" from 2010 and "The Boys" from 2011.
