Brakes formed in Brighton in 2002 as a quartet with Josh Ward on vocals and guitar, Tom White on guitar, Ed Harcourt on bass, and Paul White on drums. Their debut album 'Give Blood' came out the following year, mixing indie rock with power pop and garage sounds. In 2006, they released 'The Beatific Visions,' which included the track 'All Night Disco Party.'
Ed Harcourt left in 2008 to work on solo material, and the remaining three members put out 'Touchdown' in 2009. The band went on hiatus around 2012. Other songs from their catalog include 'Oh! Forever,' 'Cease And Desist,' and 'Comma Comma Comma Full.'
