Breaker formed in Los Angeles in 1982 with guitarist Mike Slamer, bassist Dave Spitz, drummer Mike Fasano, and vocalist Ron Young. Their early years saw lineup changes and some criticism for aggressive lyrics, but they kept at it. Their debut album 'Night of the Damned' came out in that period, followed by others like 'Take No Prisoners' and 'Unforgiven' through the 1980s.
In 1986, they released 'Behind Enemy Lines,' which became their best-known track. The song's heavy guitars and Young's vocals connected with metal listeners and got radio play. Other songs from that time include 'Black And White,' 'Blood Money,' 'From The Heart,' and 'Get Tough.'
Their second album 'Out of Control' drew particular attention for its lyrics, which some found confrontational. The band didn't soften their approach despite the reactions. They kept playing and recording through the decade, maintaining a straightforward metal sound without much shift in style.
