Brent Cobb

Brent Cobb grew up in Georgia, where he absorbed the Southern music that would shape his own writing. His debut album 'The Shine' came out in 2016, with songs like 'Black Crow' and 'Shine On Rainy Day' showing his knack for plainspoken storytelling. The record got some attention in Americana circles, enough to establish him as someone worth watching.

He's worked with his brother Dave Cobb, who produced that first album and has become known for his work with artists like Sturgill Simpson. Jason Isbell has played guitar on some of Brent's tracks too. The music tends to be straightforward and acoustic-driven, with later albums like 'Keep Your Distance' and 'And Now, Let's Turn to Page...' continuing in that vein.

In 2018, Cobb was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, an incident that brought some unwanted attention. He's spoken about seeking help afterward. His songs don't really address that directly, sticking instead to the kind of everyday observations you hear in 'Solving Problems' or 'Country Bound'.
