Brock Hillman started as a band in Los Angeles in the early 2000s, with vocalist and guitarist Brock Hillman, bassist Ethan James, and drummer Jake Kelly. They signed with Columbia Records in 2004 and released their debut album 'Give Me That Much' the following year. The title track became a hit on alternative charts.
In 2007, the band faced plagiarism accusations over 'Give Me That Much' and left Columbia Records. They regrouped on an independent label and put out 'The Fire Within' in 2009, which showed a more introspective side. Ethan James and Jake Kelly left in 2010, replaced by bassist Sam Wilson and drummer Tom Carter.
With that lineup, they released albums like 'The Weight of the World' in 2012 and 'Echoes of Yesterday' in 2015. Other songs in their catalog include 'Hey, Love' and 'Hold That Line'.
