B'rocks formed in Brazil in 1990 with Alex Kapranos on vocals, Cadu Pelegrini on guitar, Fábio Villas Bôas on bass, and Marcelo Camelo on drums. They released three albums in the 1990s: their self-titled debut in 1991, 'Rock Negro' in 1993, and 'A Vingança' in 1995.
Their song 'A Vingança' became their most recognizable track, though its lyrics drew some criticism for how they were interpreted. The band was known for energetic live shows that polarized audiences.
B'rocks broke up in 1998. Afterward, Kapranos continued as a vocalist and songwriter, while Pelegrini formed the band Capital Inicial. Villas Bôas and Camelo worked as producers and session musicians.
