It ain’t getting better but it might stop

And that’s worth praying for

Like the weekends

Still tired from jumping in the deep end

Fake conversation with your real friends

Now that’s worth waiting for

And we’ve all got phones but we don’t talk anymore

Because this hell we’re living in just gets bigger

I’ve been stood here withering far too long

And if god writes fiction, go figure

It’s too strange a plot to all be wrong

Well you could go insane

Trying to look for love on a commuter train

Find a young romantic of the olden days

Now that’s worth living for

And it makes no sense

So the world goes digital and what then?

Talking to strangers while you lay in bed

Add them to your total score

With their heads all hung on the wall like carnivores

If you want my best advice just keep breathing

I know i sound so cynical in all my songs

But when God writes fiction just keep reading
