Broken Wings formed in São Paulo in the early 1990s, coming together after the earlier band Vôo Livre. The lineup included vocalist Leandro Lehart, guitarist Luiz Carlos Maluly, bassist Fábio Fonseca, and drummer André Holfelt.
Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1995 and featured the song 'Asas Quebradas,' which became their most recognizable track. The band followed with 'Entre o Céu e o Inferno' in 2001, though it didn't find the same audience as their first record.
They kept recording after that, but ran into some trouble in 2008 when another band accused them of plagiarism over the song 'Voa.' The matter was settled out of court. Other songs in their catalog include 'Crítica da Morte Anunciada' and 'Frases Feitas.'
