They had Fred Turner on bass and vocals, with Blair Thornton and Jim Clench joining on guitars the following year. Their debut album included 'Let It Ride,' but it was tracks like 'Takin' Care of Business' and 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' that became their calling cards.

Randy Bachman left in 1979, which led to legal disputes over the band's name. The group also had a 1976 marijuana possession arrest that made headlines. They kept recording through the early '80s with albums like 'Head On' and 'Not Fragile,' but the lineup shifted after Randy's departure.

Their songs still turn up on classic rock radio and in movies, that chugging guitar riff on 'Takin' Care of Business' is hard to miss. The band's later years saw various reunions and touring configurations, but those early '70s records are what most people remember.
