Buchecha

Buchecha was a Brazilian samba duo formed by Claudinho and Francisco Buchecha Rodrigues, who performed under the name Buchecha. They started as street performers in Rio de Janeiro, building a local following before recording their first album in 1997. That debut, 'Nosso Sonho,' included 'Quero Te Encontrar,' a ballad that became a national hit and helped define their sound.

Their music mixed traditional samba with pop arrangements, a style sometimes called samba pop. Songs like 'Fico Assim Sem Você' and 'Cristal' kept them on Brazilian radio through the late 1990s and early 2000s. They released several albums including 'Buchecha & Claudinho' in 1998 and 'Samba Pop' in 2005.

In 2002, Claudinho died in a car accident. Buchecha continued performing under their duo name, though the dynamic changed. Buchecha later spoke publicly about struggling with drug addiction, which led to a break from music before he returned to recording and performing.
