A street-born Rio pair whose ballads and pop samba defined a late-90s sound.
For their early sound, 'Quero Te Encontrar' still holds up. Later, 'Implacável' shows how they kept moving.
Buchecha's debut album 'Nosso Sonho' in 1997 had 'Quero Te Encontrar,' a ballad that became a national hit. Their samba pop style kept songs like 'Fico Assim Sem Você' and 'Cristal' on Brazilian radio for years. Even after Claudinho's death in 2002, Buchecha kept the name alive through personal struggles and a return to music.
They started as street performers in Rio before recording that first album in 1997. After Claudinho died in a car accident, Buchecha continued under the duo name, took a break due to drug addiction, and later came back to performing.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
