Busco Esposa formed in 2002 as a Spanish band with José Manuel Soto on lead vocals and songwriting, Manuel Marvizón on guitars, Miguel Ángel Fernández on bass, and Salvador de la Fuente on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out that same year, featuring the track "Busco Esposa" that would become their signature song.
Their music mixed flamenco with pop and romantic ballads, often circling around themes of love and heartbreak. They released several albums through the 2000s including Por tu Amor in 2004, Vida y Amor in 2006, and Regreso a Casa in 2010.
Soto faced throat cancer in 2008 but returned to performing after treatment.
