Bwo

Bwo formed in 2013 around brothers Pierre and Étienne Baqué, who brought influences from their Ivory Coast background into their music. They worked through early financial and recognition challenges by playing local venues, gradually building a following with their energetic performances.

Their debut album "Voodoo Magic" came out in 2016, featuring the title track that became their most recognizable song. Other tracks like "Hanging On The Phone," "Kings Of Tomorrow," and "Barcelona" showed their range across different styles.

Some listeners questioned how the group approached African musical traditions, though Bwo maintained they were celebrating cultural connections rather than exploiting them. Their sound incorporated elements from various genres without settling into one predictable formula.
