Byte formed in the late 1990s as a collective of musicians drawn to experimental electronic music. Their sound pulled from ambient textures and ethereal harmonies, with core members including vocalist Alicia Rodriguez, multi-instrumentalist Miguel Garcia, and guitarist Juan Carlos Morales. They released their first album, 'En Algun Lugar,' in 1999.

Their music often drew mixed reactions. Some found it too avant-garde, while others responded to its emotional pull. In 2003, a festival performance was cut short over lyrical content concerns. Still, they kept recording, putting out albums like 'Sombras y Sueños' in 2002 and 'El Silencio de los Inocentes' in 2006.

Songs like 'Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte' and 'Lucha de Gigantes' show their blend of electronic layers with Rodriguez's vocals. They released 'El Origen' in 2010 and 'Ecos del Pasado' in 2014, maintaining their focus on atmospheric, introspective material without shifting toward more conventional pop structures.
