C-3PO formed in São Paulo in 2002 with Filipe Catto on vocals, Rodrigo Amarante on guitar, Edgard Scandurra on bass, and Marcelo Camelo on drums. Their self-titled debut album that year included "Ninguém É Insubstituível," a song that found an audience despite the band's sound not fitting neatly into established Brazilian genres.
They released two more albums, "Som de Verão" in 2006 and "Simples Assim" in 2009. The lineup changed over time, with Catto remaining as other members pursued different projects. Amarante and Camelo developed solo careers, while Scandurra continued performing with the rock band Ira!.
C-3PO's music incorporated various elements, from experimental pop and electronic textures to folk melodies. Another track, "Sem Mais," appears among their notable songs. The band's approach remained unconventional throughout their active years.
