C Dala formed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with Dani Calamaro on vocals and guitar. Their debut album 'Elipse' came out in 1998, and the title track became one of their better-known songs. The band's lineup included Germán Wiedemer on drums, Mariano Castro on keyboards, and Martín Bosa on bass.
They put out several albums over the next decade, including 'Giros' in 2001 and 'Hijos del Sol' in 2004. Another track, 'Estela da Ferrugem Amarela,' also appears among their work. The music drew from rock and folk with some Latin rhythms mixed in.
C Dala faced some criticism at times for their lyrical content, but Calamaro generally stood by the material. They released a compilation called 'C Dala 10 Años' in 2008, marking roughly a decade since that first album.
