Cabb formed in Los Angeles with Michael Pettis on vocals and guitar, Greg Suran on guitar, Peter Smidt on bass, and Jason Patterson on drums. They released their debut album "The Piper" in 2003, followed by "Whisper" in 2006 and "Sour Cherry" in 2009. Their later albums included "Blackout" in 2012, "The Spark" in 2015, and "Echoes" in 2018.
Their song "New Year's Eve" became one of their most recognizable tracks, known for its reflective quality. Another song, "Well Wishes," appears among their top material. In the late 2000s, the band faced plagiarism allegations, which they denied.
