Cabeças no Ar

Cabeças no Ar formed in São Paulo in 2008 with Yuri Queiroga on vocals, Leandro Vinagre on guitar, Felipe Moura on bass, and Rodrigo Santos on drums. Their name translates to "Heads in the Clouds," which fits the band's tendency toward atmospheric and introspective material. They released their debut album "A Explicação das Estrelas" in 2010, which included the title track and songs like "Pequena Dor" and "Jesus No Secundário."

That first album established their sound, a kind of Brazilian rock built on ethereal harmonies and lyrics that often dealt with existential themes. Over the next decade they put out several more records, including "O Céu e o Mar" in 2013, "O Tempo e o Vento" in 2016, "A Essência do Ser" in 2019, and "O Universo Infinito" in 2022. Their catalog includes tracks like "Primeiro Beijo," "Hora De Acordar," and "Baile Da Biblioteca."

While their music found an audience, the band's refusal to conform to mainstream expectations and their lyrical focus on mortality and the cosmos sometimes drew criticism.
