Cabocos do Forró formed in 1999 in Bahia, a state in northeastern Brazil. They started playing small local festivals before releasing their debut album in 2003. Their big break came the following year with the single 'Proposta Indecente,' which became a national hit in Brazil.
That song, along with tracks like 'Ponto G' and 'Coração,' helped establish them as a popular forró act. They've released several albums including 'Forró do Cabocos' in 2005 and 'Doce Sabor' in 2010. The band has worked with other Brazilian artists like Elba Ramalho and Xand Avião.
Their current lineup includes Wesley Safadão on lead vocals, Jonas Esticado on vocals and accordion, Zé Neto on vocals and triangle, and Xandão on vocals and zabumba. In 2013, they faced plagiarism allegations that were eventually dismissed.
