Cachorro Loco formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s, with Marcelo Gross as their frontman. Their debut album came out in 1994, followed by 'Histórias de Amor e Morte' two years later. The band's sound mixed rock and pop with Brazilian rhythms, and Gross wrote lyrics that touched on urban life and social issues.
In 1997, Gross was arrested for drug possession, which led to a break in the band's activity. They returned with 'Na Boca do Lobo' in 2000. One of their notable songs is 'Violência'.
