Cachorros no Telhado formed in São Paulo in 2004 with Gustavo Bertoni on vocals, Mauricio 'Nando' Maximiano on guitar, Marcelo Gross on bass, and André Jung on drums. They worked as an independent band for several years before their 2008 debut album 'Falar em Português' brought wider attention.
Their song 'Eu Preciso de Você' from that album became popular on Brazilian radio in 2008. In 2010, there were some plagiarism claims about that song, which the band disputed. They kept recording after that, putting out albums like 'Amores Imaginários' in 2012, 'Não Quero Voltar' in 2015, and 'A Casa Elétrica' in 2019.
They also recorded in English sometimes, as with 'You Taught me How To Live.' Their music connected with younger listeners in Brazil during the late 2000s and 2010s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
