Cacofones

Cacofones formed in the late 1980s with four members named Lauro, Rodrigo, Caique, and Paulo. Their sound leaned on distorted guitars and heavy bass, and they built a following through live shows that were more energetic than polished. Their debut album came out in 1989, followed by records like "Corpo Estranho" in 1992 and "Pacto Sinistro" in 1995.

Some of their lyrics drew attention from conservative groups, particularly the song "Dono da Verdade." They kept writing what they wanted without much compromise, which earned them a reputation for being confrontational. Other tracks like "Segunda-Feira" and "Talvez Não" showed their rougher, more direct side.

Their music connected with younger listeners who responded to its unvarnished quality. While they weren't a commercial force, their approach made space for more experimental sounds in Brazilian rock at the time.
