The mountains wrap around the bay in blue and black

The rays of Sun play with the waves that sparkle back

Metal ships float in the water

In the Strait of Gibraltar

Dance between the shadows of attack

Back in Tangier

Eyes are closed in desperation

Give in to temptation

Flying with the beat of tambourines

I used to have a melody

A song of pure serenity

I used to have a set of strings

A winter cold with snow and sleet

Was filled with happiness and cheer

Then yellow drought and summer heat

Put us forever in Tangier

The desert steam is heavy there

And I keep drowning in despair

No shelter from the Sun so bright

The sands a palace to your throne

Of ancient kings and God unknown
