Cadete formed in La Plata in the late 1990s, with Guillermo "Willy" Bonetto on vocals and guitar. Their first album, "A Pena Sutil," came out in 1998. The title track became a slow-burning favorite, a ballad about love and loss that felt more lived-in than dramatic.
They kept putting out records over the next couple of decades, like "Hábitos" in 2001 and "Tanta Gente" in 2008. The band's sound had room for saxophone and keyboard alongside the guitars, and they sometimes worked with other Argentine musicians like Kevin Johansen and Juana Molina.
In 2000, several members were hurt in a car accident. They kept playing after that. There was also an arrest for drug possession in 2004 that got some attention. The music kept coming, though, with another album called "Canciones Perdidas" arriving in 2015.
