Cadilac's e Dinossaurus formed in Belo Horizonte in 1997. Their debut album, 'Amigos Perdidos (Vida Bandida)', came out in 2000 and gave them their breakthrough with the title track. The band was led by vocalist Kadu Brandão, with Ricardo 'Bucha' on guitar, Danilo 'Dan' on bass, and Sérgio 'Serginho' on drums.
Their sound pulled from hard rock and punk, with some reggae touches. Songs like 'Ela não está aqui' and 'Terra prometida' showed their mix of driving guitar riffs and lyrics that often dealt with friendship and feeling out of place. They put out several more albums, including 'O Ódio é Louco, Mas é Meu' in 2002 and 'Infinito Dentro' in 2008.
The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2010. Before that, they had worked with artists like Manu Chao and Marcelo Camelo.
