Cadillac Sky

Cadillac Sky formed in Nashville in the early 2000s around singer Matt Urmy and guitarist Jason Scheff. They put out a self-titled debut in 2005, followed by albums like 'One and Only' and 'Blind Man Driving' over the next few years. Their songs, including 'Homesick Angel' and 'Insomniac Blues For Matthew,' leaned into a rootsy blend of country and rock.

In 2010 they released 'Striking Distance,' which brought them wider attention. The band's lineup at various points included Bryan Simpson on bass and Cory Levesque on drums. They kept recording through the 2010s, with later albums like 'Made in Mississippi' and 'Out of the Rain' in 2015.

Their catalog holds a handful of quietly persistent songs, 'Weary Angel,' 'You Again,' 'Baby Don't Cry', that feel more like sketches from the road than anthems. They worked without much fanfare, and the music has a straightforward, lived-in quality that doesn't try to be more than it is.
