Caetano Sertanejo formed in 2015 with three members: Caetano Marcolino on vocals and guitar, André Vargas on bass and backing vocals, and Felipe Duran on drums. They put out their first album, Sertanejo Pop, the following year. Their sound mixed sertanejo rhythms with pop and rock touches, which didn't sit well with some traditional listeners at first.
In 2017 they released Infiel, a collaboration with André Vargas that became their biggest hit. The song caught on widely in Brazil. They followed it with Romântico Sertanejo in 2018. Felipe Duran left the band in 2019, and they brought in a new drummer, Marcos Nunes. They marked a decade together with the 2022 album 10 Anos.
