Caeu formed in Norway around 2004, with Kenneth Gulbrandsen on vocals, Espen Skogstad on guitar, Jon Skåtun on bass, and Henrik Bergan on drums. Their early track "Black Liquor" got some attention for its heavy, atmospheric sound.
They put out their first album, "Subterranean Terror," in 2008. Later records like "The Sorrow Within" in 2013 and "Pale Chalice" in 2021 kept working with that mix of doom metal weight and industrial textures. Another song, "Landslide Guy," shows up in their catalog too.
Some listeners found their material intense or challenging, but they kept at it without much shift in direction. The music stays fairly dark and heavy across those releases.
