DRIGGU formed in Salvador, Bahia in 2018, a collective of musicians drawn to African rhythms and global grooves. Their debut album 'Preto' came out the following year, establishing them with a sound that pulls from Afrobeat, funk, and soul.
Led by vocalist and lyricist Vanderson Silva, the band's music often addresses social themes. Their song 'Preto' became a point of discussion around black identity in Brazil.
They followed that first album with 'Puro' in 2021 and 'Resistência' in 2023, continuing to work with the rhythmic foundations that defined their earlier material.
