Caka Aranha

Caka Aranha formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s with Marcelo Camelo on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Amarante on bass, and Cris Botarelli on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, mixing rock with samba and electronica in a way that got attention for being unconventional.

Their second album, 2007's 'A Porta Aberta,' gave them a wider audience. The title track became a hit, and songs like 'A Rua' and 'Blues Da Madrugada' showed their range from anthemic to more vulnerable moods. They went on to play festivals like Coachella and Roskilde, building a reputation for energetic live shows.

The band kept the same three members through their four studio albums, which also include 2012's 'Selva' and 2020's 'Quinze Anos.' Their music, with tracks like 'Capoeira' and 'Dentro de Você,' connected with younger listeners in Brazil who responded to its direct take on city life.
