Cal Will formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1990. Their music pulled from the local sounds of samba, but mixed them with rock and funk rhythms. The track "Incosequência" became their most recognizable song.
Carlinhos Brown fronted the band, handling lead vocals and percussion. The group included Ricardo Costa on bass, Pedro Antunes on guitar, Cássio Duarte on keyboards, and Felip on drums.
They released several albums, starting with their self-titled debut and continuing through later records like "Abraçaço." Their approach drew some criticism from traditional samba listeners, but they kept working with their blend of styles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
