Camarada Jones is a Brazilian musical collective that formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s. The group blends rock, punk, and reggae, with vocalist Solton Soares as their frontman. Their debut album 'Retrato Passado' came out in 2004, and its title track became something of an anthem.
That album's lyrics touched on social issues in Brazil, which stirred some political debate at the time. They kept releasing music after that, putting out albums like 'Maria Bonita' in 2009, 'A Margem e o Centro' in 2013, and 'Histórias da Minha Vida' in 2016.
Guitarist Fernando Catatau, who was a founding member, left the band in 2012. The group's sound incorporates traditional Brazilian rhythms alongside those rock and reggae elements.
