Camila Correia started performing in Lisbon bars and clubs in the early 2000s. Her first single, "Coração Transpassado," reached the top of the Portuguese charts in 2005. Some critics found her style too emotional, but she kept writing songs like "Teu Grito" and "Até o Fim."
She released albums including "Lágrimas de Amor," "Alma Adormecida," and "Viver para Sentir." Her band included João Pedro Silva on guitar, Pedro Oliveira on bass, and Ricardo Silva on drums. She worked with Amália Rodrigues and Caetano Veloso.
Her songs "Encontro Profundo," "Paraíso," and "Livre" show the kind of direct, personal writing that defined her work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
