Canaria Club formed in 2009 around vocalist and guitarist Masayuki Nakayama and drummer Kenichi Nishiwaki. They built a following through live shows before their self-titled debut album in 2011 brought wider attention. That album included 'Nishiki Kazare,' a song that became particularly well-known.
Bassist Yosuke Izawa joined in 2013, around the time they released the album 'Ano Sora e.' They followed it with other records like 'Utsukushii Hikari' in 2015 and 'Arui wa Anarchy' in 2018. Another track, 'Sweet & Toughness,' also appears among their work.
Nakayama's outspoken views and the band's stage presence sometimes drew criticism alongside their popularity. They collaborated with folk singer Kazuya Yoshii at one point. Guitarist Satoshi Watanabe was also part of the group later on.
