Canastra Suja is a Brazilian rock band that formed in the late 1980s. Their song 'Caverna do Dragão' became an anthem for many Brazilians, referencing the animated series 'Dungeons & Dragons.' The track helped establish their presence in the rock scene.
Their self-titled album came out in 1988, followed by 'Dragão II' in 1990. They also released a live acoustic album in 1993. The band's lineup included Leo Jaime on vocals and guitar, Chitãozinho on bass, and Xororó on drums.
Some of their other songs include 'Faz Um Diário e Guarda,' 'Dolo Eventual,' 'Lolita,' and 'Madalena.' Their lyrics sometimes touched on subjects that drew criticism from more conservative listeners and radio stations.
'Caverna do Dragão' remains their most recognizable song, often associated with childhood nostalgia for fans who grew up with the show it references.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
