Candies was a Japanese pop trio formed in 1973 by producer Kazuhiko Kato. The group consisted of Ran, Sue, and Miki, who were all quite young when they started performing together. Their early singles like "Anata ni Muchuu" and "Abunai Doyoubi" found quick success on the charts.
During the late 1970s, Candies became one of Japan's most popular acts. Their 1978 single "Haru Ichiban" captured a particular seasonal feeling that resonated with listeners. Another song, "Sono Ki Ni Sasenaide," also became part of their catalog during this period.
The group faced significant changes when Miki left in 1977, citing health concerns. Candies continued as a duo for a time, but their story took a tragic turn in 1982 when Sue passed away.
