Their 1981 album 'Capoeira da África Ao Brasil' gave the band its most recognizable song. Tracks like 'Chega Mais Que É Bom' and 'Como É Como Vai Ser Como Será' show how they blended capoeira patterns with samba and other popular Brazilian styles.
Some traditionalists criticized the band for mixing capoeira with contemporary music, but they kept recording through the 1980s. Their sound was energetic and direct, built around percussion and guitar lines that felt connected to the street rhythms of Bahia.
