A forró group that's kept the same lineup since the 1980s, mixing traditional rhythms with stories from the Northeast.
For a sense of their sound, try "Destino de um vaqueiro" or that 1996 title track. They've always felt like a steady presence in forró.
They've been playing together since 1984, with brothers Chicão and Zé do Forró joined by their cousin and a friend. Songs like "WhatsApp Ou Eu" blend classic forró sounds with lyrics about modern life and love in their region. Their 1996 track "O Futuro Lhe Espera" became a signature hit, even sparking a plagiarism dispute they weathered.
They formed in Juazeiro do Norte and released albums like "Viva o Forró" in 1994. More recently, they've collaborated with younger artists such as João Gomes on "Mais Um Beijo Perdido."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
