A Brazilian group that blended regional sounds with broader styles across several albums.
For a good sense of their sound, 'Cidadão' and 'Sereia' are solid places to start. They show that blend of regional roots and something a little wider.
Their 2010 album 'Canteiros' gave them one of their most recognizable tracks, and songs like 'Sereia' and 'Cidadão' have stuck around. They kept a foot in the rhythms of northeastern Brazil while letting other influences in. That mix gave their music a particular texture that wasn't just traditional or entirely modern.
Canindé formed in the late 1990s, led by vocalist Estevão Queiroga. Their debut 'Pé de Serra' arrived in 1999, followed by self-titled work in 2003 and 'Nosso Tempo' in 2006. Queiroga stayed constant as the group's personnel shifted over the years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
