Capella

Capella is a Danish vocal ensemble that formed in 1994 under conductor Michael Bojesen. Their debut album 'Credo' came out that same year, establishing their sound with choral arrangements of sacred texts. The group became known internationally in 1996 with their recording of 'Kyrie,' a setting of the Latin prayer that reached listeners beyond traditional classical audiences.

That version of 'Kyrie' became their signature piece, appearing on charts in several countries. Their catalog includes other liturgical works like 'Santo' and 'Piedade de Nós,' often drawing from mass settings. While some listeners have debated their occasional use of electronic touches, the ensemble has maintained a focus on vocal precision within sacred music repertoire.
