A New York quartet whose straightforward, energetic sound built a following beyond their two studio albums.
For their sound, 'Alive' is the obvious starting point. 'O Melhor Amigo do Azar' and 'Quem Fez Esses Bolinhos?' show the range in their catalog.
Their 1992 debut album 'Capones' had a raw sound that drew attention, especially the track 'Alive.' That song got some play, and their music later ended up being used in films and television shows. They weren't a major mainstream act, but they built a following with that straightforward, energetic rock approach.
Capones formed in New York City in the early 1990s as a quartet with Joey Calco on vocals and guitar. They put out two studio albums, 'Capones' in 1992 and 'Living Proof' in 1994, and went through some lineup changes over time but kept playing.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
